Topicus has acquired the research and data company MoneyView with retroactive effect from January 1. MoneyView makes financial products transparent and comparable, enabling financial service providers and consumers to make better decisions. MoneyView will continue to operate independently and under its own name from its existing offices in Amsterdam and Assen, under the current management.
Clint van Haalen, General Manager of Topicus.Finance is delighted with the acquisition. “MoneyView is an exceptional and specialized company. We are very honored to be able to include them in Topicus. Topicus specializes in creating software within primary production systems, with the aim of making a positive impact on society. Reliable data is increasingly crucial for this. MoneyView is a leader in the collection, management and disclosure of information on financial products.” Although both are business-to-business parties, Topicus and MoneyView also focus on the interests of the consumer.
”The acquisition allows Topicus to fulfill this role even better. MoneyView works with many financial service providers. And that's a good thing, because by joining forces, we ensure that consumers can be advised and served even better and thus become even better able to get a grip on and maintain control of their finances.”

The acquisition strengthens MoneyView's ambitions and guarantees continuity in the medium term. “Changes in legislation and regulations have a disproportionately heavy impact on small businesses,” explains director Pepijn van Kleef. “At the same time, technological and social developments are accelerating. With Topicus as our owner, we can meet these challenges much better. And together we see many more possibilities.” The company's independence is not up for discussion. ‘Reliability and objectivity are central to everything we do,’ says Van Kleef. ‘Our independence is an essential part of that. Topicus is aware of this and guarantees it.’
About MoneyView
MoneyView makes financial products such as mortgages, pensions and insurance fully transparent and comparable. It does this by collecting, enriching and distributing acceptance criteria, conditions and rates. The high-quality data provided by MoneyView enables providers, advisory organizations, comparison websites and consumer organizations to optimize their products and advice and help consumers make better financial decisions. In 1993, Jan Riemens founded MoneyView Research in Amsterdam with the aim of making banking products comparable for consumers, including via a telephone line and the weekly magazine MoneyWiser. MoneyView gradually shifted its focus to providers and in 1998 launched the first real comparison database for financial products. Mr. Riemens also started several other companies, including the internet TV channel FinanceTelevision and the news service Novum Nieuws, and at the beginning of this century he handed over the day-to-day management of MoneyView Research to Pepijn van Kleef, Peter Post and Hedwig Dros.
From the 2003 acquisition of IFC, a non-life and health insurance comparison website from Assen, MoneyView covers the entire spectrum of retail financial products and the company grew into the central player it is today.
