IJsselloop 2026 Breaks Records and Brings Deventer Together

21 april 2026

On Sunday, April 12, the 19th edition of the IJsselloop took place in Deventer. With 9,000 participants and more than 12,000 supporters lining the course, the event once again became a sporting highlight for the city.

For Topicus, the IJsselloop has been a familiar event for many years. As both a partner and a participant, we are closely involved, and we were once again well-represented this year. With a record number of 70 colleagues at the start of the corporate run and once again as the proud namesake of the Topicus G-Loop, we look back on a successful edition.

Run for impact: Topicus G-Loop

The IJsselloop is for everyone—and that was evident once again during the Topicus G-Loop. This 1-kilometer route along the IJssel is specifically designed for participants with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

With over 100 participants, the G-Loop set a new record, and the event has since grown into one of the largest G-Loop events in the Netherlands. A powerful example of what the IJsselloop stands for: participation for everyone.

Moving Together for a Good Cause

The IJsselloop is not just about sports, but also about social impact. On behalf of all participants, a check for €4,682 was presented to De Klup this year.

De Klup organizes sports and recreational activities for people with intellectual and/or multiple disabilities in Deventer and the surrounding area. As an organization that relies largely on volunteers, they make a valuable contribution to fun, exercise, and connection.

A wonderful cause that aligns seamlessly with the core of the IJsselloop: moving together, for everyone.
